How Can I Run A Windows 95 Game With Windows Xp?

The game is the 1995 version of “The Incredible Machine.” I’ve heard that the old Windows 95 games could not be played on Windows XP… but then I heard that some people are doing it. The first one who tells me how to do it and it works will get points. Nobody gets points without a correct answer… so I need you computer experts to help me out. Thank you so much!

    1. Unzip the game into a folder called TIM. (Make sure your unzipper keeps the file structure when unzipping, so you get the same folders as when it was zipped)
    2. Go to the folder TIMWIN, and run TIMWIN.exe. If you are running XP, then put the file into 98 compatibility, and 256 colour.

In the game’s directory, there’s a .exe (executable) file that basically runs the game. Right-click that .exe file, and click properties. Click the “Compatibility” tab, and check off the box that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and in the list below, select Windows 95. Click Apply, and OK.
This doesn’t always work…but it’s the best thing you can do.
