The use of Hibernate is energy-saving. It will put computer sytem in stand by mode. This function will shut down harddisk operation for saving energy.

How to open it?
Hibernate is the operating system function in both desktop and notebook.
It can be enable by following this step :

right-click on desktop then choose Properties – > Screen Saver – > Power and then click on Hibernate tab.

* If the Hibernate tab function is unavailable, your computer doesn’t support hibernate feature.

What’s happen if i use hipernate function?
Before shutting down harddisk operation, all information for example, program openning, document openning will be transferred from RAM to HardDisk then all operation will be shut down.
When you open your system again, all information will be recovery as same as before you are in standby mode. Please note that notebook which can use this function have to support Hibernate system as well.

However, if your disk drive is FAT32, you will be unable to recall this Hibernate function.

note :
If you enable hibernate function on your computer you must have harddisk space more than your memory because your computer will be reserve harddisk space for this function.

If your windows XP with Fast User Switching, the Shut Down menu will show the options to Stand By, Turn Off, or Restart your computer. You must hold down the Shift key, and the Stand By button will change to Hibernate.
