What is SSID (Wireless network Network Config)?

SSID (service set identifier) is a function performed by an Access Point that transmits its name so that wireless stations searching for a network connection can “discover” it. User can use wireless software to give you a list of the Access Points in range.



Protect your Wireless Network from unauthorized access.

By default, wireless network equipment typically Enable SSID broadcasts.
You can protect your access point by Disable access point Function “SSID Broadcast Network”. When you enable this function on one can scan and see your SSID because access point not announcement SSID name Network.

However this technic cannot protect your wireless network from hacker 100%.
Because hacker can detect your SSID by sniffing method.
